Shangri-La Grand Lakes Resort Wedding - Vincent & Samantha
These two!!
Their story is straight out of one of my beloved romantic movies. Their ceremony music was all from the 2005 Pride & Prejudice film - if you know me at all you know I’m OBSESSED with that movie!
They knew each other growing up, he even dated one of her best friends! After some time passed, they met again over Thanksgiving break at their small town bar and the rest is history!
The wedding was at the Shangri-La Grand Lakes Resort. I’d never been to the resort before and enjoyed exploring this beautiful location! The resort is truly a luxury getaway in a remote area of Oklahoma. They have beautiful hotel rooms, a spa, boat rentals, and a golf course; all with gorgeous views of the Grand Lake!
The rolling green hills and lovely gardens were the perfect back drop for their ceremony. I loved the many intentional and unique portions of their ceremony. For example, their ring bearer was their dog!
After the ceremony, Vincent had set up a get-away golf cart that he decorated so they could spend some time alone enjoying the fact that they’re finally married!! It was so fun seeing their big smiles and laughter together as they rode through the resort and everyone waved as they passed by!
Afterwards, we took some beautiful images by the lake; the light was perfect! Vincent & Samantha are such a fun couple and we had a blast taking these pictures.
My favorite part of the reception was the three - yes three - maids/matron of honors’ speech. These three and Samantha have been best friends since elementary school. The love between them is unique and special. I loved hearing how one of them stopped Vincent & Samantha’s first kiss because she couldn’t let it happen in the small bar in their hometown!
It was clear watching the families and friends celebrating together that Vincent & Samantha are generous and kind people that are very well loved. I feel honored to be the person they chose to photograph their wedding.
